Steve P sprinting to the finish line
Today was Steve P’s final workout of the 2011 CrossFit Games. He was one of only eight men in the 55-59 division to take a crack at the workout by way of his performance in the first four workouts over Friday and Saturday. In other words, he’d already accomplished something few others had, especially when you take into account that this whole competition began with the CF Games Open back in the spring.
The workout was an extended sprint of sorts, just one time through the following sequence:
15 Burpee-to-Box Jump @ 24"
70# Kettlebell Farmer’s Carry @ 120-ft
Steve fought through the brutal burpee-to-box jumps, then surged and sprinted to the finish line during the farmer’s carry, good enough to catch up with the nearest competitor and tie for 7th place in the workout, and 8th place overall.
Congratulations, Steve P! The work that you put in over the course of the whole year paid some serious dividends, and you’ve set the bar high for all of us, young and not-so-young.
