A Fresh Start & Some Jump Rope Tomfoolery

We don't wanna jump the gun because there hasn't been a final deal struck yet, but what you're looking at above just might be the new 1,800 sq ft home of CFO in the very near future.
Stay tuned!
Fun With the Jump Rope at CFO
Below is an example of the type of play that we engage in at CFO. Forget about the muscle-ups, Candace's next step is to join the double dutch professional circuit.
The Stiff-Legged Deadlift Is Not a Romanian Deadlift
Just to clear up the debate that has been going on at CFO, and because it's easier to just go to the links for the descriptions and videos of each of the two exercises, check these links out:
Stiff-Legged Deadlift

Romanian Deadlift
Romanian Deadlift Video
Because the difference between the two lifts is subtle (although critical), it's best to let the two videos play to completion (each is only about 10 seconds long) and observe the difference in finish positions.
The Romanian deadlift has the lifter keeping knees bent throughout the lift (he's basically doing a deadlift with an Olympic lifting "scoop" at the end of the pull). The stiff-legged deadlift is nothing more than a deadlift with straight legs throughout the lift (no "scoop" at the end of the pull).
(Candace, I like medium Americanos with no room.)

Good luck getting the new space! Does it have a shower (that would be awesome!)?
Who's that "random guy" jumping rope with Candace? Pretty impressive.

OMG! The difference between the stiff-legged deadlift and the Romanian deadlift is ridiculously subtle. I refuse to buy you a medium Americano for that. You should buy me a drink for all that grief you caused me. I was thinking that one ended in a back handspring for all the talking you were doing.
Horray for fun times with the jump rope! Up next, three people in one rope - who is game!?! Actually, I seriously have tons of fun jump rope tricks for two and three people. I can't wait to do them:)
Ok. It's time for back to school fun. I've already heard my name about 30 times and the school day hasn't even started. Except, they never exactly say my name. It's more like "Ms. Hamaton". I feel like refusing to respond unless my name is correctly enunciated. This must be why I am so neurotic.

OH. and I love the potential new space. Great work Nicole and Mike!!!!!!

You said they were the exact same movements. They are not. Even their purposes are different (the RDL is an Oly accessory move, the SLDL is primarily a lower back strengthener, with a dose of hamstring flexibility thrown in).
Are they in the same family of movements? Absolutely, along with the standard DL and the sumo DL. But are they the same movements? Sorry, Charlie.

if the new space works out, or even if it doesn't, I think CFO would befefit greatly from a thick barbell, like the ones seen here.

pressing a bar that's 2" in diameter at the grip is so much harder than a 1" bar. it'll help with all the presses, and improve your grip strength.

Agreed, Jonathan.
But I'm afraid that will have to go on the nice-to-have list.
Our top priority is getting more rowers, more oly bars and rubber bumper plates, and more dumbbells.
But more on that in the coming weeks.
If anyone has any requests to make, now would be the time.
