The New Place

Looks like there's a nice little post on us on the Community Blog from the National Site.

CFO's new box.

You're probably sick of the pictures of the new place, but too bad. Our place is just too cool to do anything else other than show it off!

And we have 5 new Vulcan II Racks to go with our five new lifting pods on the way!

so I think the zone bars are going downhill. they have "new recipes" that aren't as good, and the blocks aren't even. the chocolate caremel cluster has only 6 grams of fat, 14g of protein, and 25g of carbs. what's up with that? and the chocolate mint, which used to be my favorite, isn't very good now. I hate corporations.

Cliff Builder Bars.
20 grams of protein.

They aren't exactly Zone, but they aren't made from vats full of unpronouncable ingredients either.

Check the Premier Nutrition bars. You can get them at Costco, two guys down in San Diego designed them for their own use initially. I'm eating one right now so this is from the wrapper.

Protein 30g
Carbs 23g (Sugars 8g Sugar Alcohol 5g)
Fat 8g

Then two ounces of smoked almonds and it's close to zone balanced, with a slight tilt to protein and fats

Thanks for the tip, Carlo.

Carlo,

Do you know if these Premier Nutrition bars are available at Trader Joe's?

I agree about the Zone Bars. Each time I eat one I'm left with chemical residue on my tongue.

Here's a link for Premier Nutrition's Premier Protein bar:

Some of us are running around Lake Merritt this evening. All are welcome to join us!

Carlo emailed to say he did "Fat Nancy" in the rain:

115# O/H squat x15
400M run

5 rounds.

That is so impressive!

Jonathan asked me about where I got my kettlebells. If I recall correctly, it was this company, but I think they've changed their lineup somewhat. In any case, the prices seem better than elsewhere.

No running tonight - just WAY too much rain. Evelyn and I are thinking of running tomorrow instead. Let us know if you're interested:)
