CrossFit Oakland Olympic Weightlifting Team

Natalie-Woolfolk.jpg
A reminder CrossFit Oakland is sponsoring an Olympic Weightlifting team that will compete at regional meets. Please post to comments or let Mike or Nicole know if you would like to join the team and compete in Olympic weight lifting competitions.

Check out this inspiring story on Natalie Woolfolk who literally moved from a garage gym to the Olympic Training Center.

Wow - that's at least 90kg she's snatching there. I'm definitely interested, what's the competition standard? I am now close to a bodyweight C&J (Snatch 55kg, C&J 70kg, BW 78kg) and the limiting factor is definitely technique.

Also, what would the time commitment be? Always difficult to juggle now that we have a little one.

It all depends on my knee: if one of you wants to develop a rehab/competition readiness program for me, I'm in.

Here's a good clip with Natalie in it:

Natalie Woolfolk is incredible. She's much smaller than I am and much stronger. The US lifting team needs to put her on posters and sell them.

The idea for the CFO Oly team is to have fun and track PR's.

Additional time commitment should be minimal a few nights a week at CFO just prior to the event.

I hear we may have some very nice custom Lululemon uniforms!

ok guys, I'm gearing up to come back to cfo soon. maybe in a few weeks. today I killed myself at home. here was my workout.

3 rounds.
Round 1:
15 1.5Pood KB push press ea. arm (broken into sets).
50 double unders
1 "spidercrawl," which is crawling on all 4's down 16 steps, then back up backwards. insanely hard.

Round 2:
12 PP
30 du's
1 spidercrawl

Round 3:
9 pp
20 du's
1 spidercrawl.

17:03

thought I was gonna die on the last crawl backwards up my steps. i collapsed like 3 from the top and barely made it.

Jonathan, looking forward to seeing you at crossfit again! I'm glad to hear you're coming back.
Sounds like you haven't gotten lazy since we last saw you! nice work!

I'm taking a few days off b/c of a mild cold and a strained muscle (I think I overdid it with the push press a few days ago - feels kind of like what you had but not as bad). I'll be back soon though.

Hey, I'd be up for being on the team (mostly for the uniforms).
