***FRIDAY EVENING CLASSES CANCELED***
Due to numerous schedule conflicts, most notably the Mud Run, the 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. classes will be canceled this Friday night. We'll be posting a workout that you can do in lieu of the Friday evening group class on Thursday night.

I've got a training question.
With the Mud Run on Saturday, what's a good workout for today?
Angie is the WOD. "Fun" workout, but one that always leaves me very sore for at least two days.
Am I better off doing some pullups and pushups and then running a 5k today, then doing "active" rest Thursday and Friday?

Tim,
If you're looking to minimize DOMS, I'd definitely shy away from a high-rep bodyweight style of workout like Angie, even though Angie matches the metabolic conditioning demands of our Mud Run pretty nicely.
Why don't you do something like the following:
5 Rounds for time:
15 Push Presses
21 Sit-Ups
Followed by a run around the lake (5k)...
You can get some running in, use the whole body, bump up the intensity with the little precursor WOD, and do something that's not too taxing and will give you plenty of recovery time leading into the Mud Run.

Thanks, Mike.
Just finished, with 75# push presses and a S-L-O-W 5k in the hills.
