Day 2 after horrible painful torture Mike called a "workout" on Monday. Improvements: Am able to feed and clean self. Worsening: New found pain in forearm muscles.
Tomorrow: Hope to be able to lift arms above shoulders--have not brushed hair in days... People at work starting to notice...
I can't critque Nicole's form since watching wieght lifting right now will make me puke. A lot. And cause post traumatic stress syndrome. Mike--you are a bad, bad man.
Really, very good Nicole: how far you have come. Still not coming to 100% full extension at top of movement, and second pull could be more pronounced: it is more of a fast deadlift with a slight whip of the hips, rather than a truly powerful scoop. Also the fact that you are jumping up so much tells me that you are not reversing the direction of the hips fast enough. Finally, not enough drop in the jerk.
All in all excellent, and probably better than I can do. Nice.
That's a good-looking clean, Nicole.
The only things I spotted were as follows:
1. Early arm bend (jumping with bent arms)
2. Catching it high (if the intent was to catch it in a full squat)
3. Forward lean of the torso during the dip portion of the jerk leads to a forward jump, which means that all of the momentum in the jerk wasn't translated directly to the vertical.
I love the explosion and powerful hip drive of the jerk, though!
Unlike Max, I don't have a problem with the depth of the jerk (I wasn't sure if Max was referring to the dip in the jerk or the catch in the jerk; either way, both look fine to me).
Hat's off to Maxi for besting me by nearly 6 minutes in the +20# category of Murph today.
Max has the best with-weight time of the day so far; James "The Assassin" has the best without-weight time of the day so far. 54:38 and 50:26, respectively.
For some reason, I can't the demo of the clean and jerk. Please post it again.
Angela,
I'm not having any problems viewing it on the Mac or on the PC.

I guess I'll take the "win", but Mini did it jumping to the bar, no ball and a backpack filled with weight as opposed to my "pro" setup. We did have the same shoes though.
I got 54:11 without weight. I have a beautiful blood-filled blister under one of my callouses, but none of them tore.
Scoop, girl! Scoop!
