Excuse #29: " I don't have the right shoes on."

The Man

The Moves

The Shoes
On Tuesday, Jacques Viera-Horn completed the WOD (remember all those pull ups and 800 meter runs?) as Rx'd in a pair of powder blue Sperry topsiders! Jacques rocks and we love him!!!
Jacques has been at CFO for about three months and is making big gains! He is an aspiring Oakland Firefighter and a gem of a grandson (he takes care of his 102 year old grandfather)! Keep showing us how it's done Jacques...

The 80's called... they would like their shoes back.

Right, the shoes may be bad for running but aren't the soles better than cushy running shoes for lifting weights? On another note, the Buddy-Holly-meets-modern-hipster glasses rock. Jacques has made some serious fitness gains, attire aside. Go, Jacques, go!!!

Last minute notice of a non Crossfit event, unless you want to do some kind of race around and tabata sit-ups, push-ups, etc. (which could result in being asked to leave, getting checked-out, or just weird looks)--hey, I'm game...almost :)
The SF Bay Guardian has teamed up with Noise Pop and the world-renowned de Young Museum for this year’s Best Of The Bay Party, honoring the winners of this year's Best of the Bay awards featured in the Guardian’s annual “Best Of” issue. The annual party is always a raucous celebration and this year will be no different. As in recent years, the Bay Area's best local, critically acclaimed performers and artists will come together to entertain, delight and inspire the crowd.
Live music will include performances by Rupa and the April Fishes with special guest Marcus Shelby; and the infamous DJs of KUSF's (90.3 FM) hip hop mix show Beatsauce (J-Boogie, Wisdom, and Raw B). Noise Pop is proud to present a special one night only exhibit of the work of noted San Francisco rock photographer Peter Ellenby including many pieces from his recent book, “Every Day Is Saturday” (Chronicle Books)
All festivities will take place amid the de Young Museum's special exhibition galleries, currently featuring "Nan Kempner: American Chic," "Hiroshi Sugimoto," "Shi Guorui: Reproduction and Refashioning;" "Guise: Recent Prints by Deborah Oropallo;" and more. The party is free but regular museum admission prices apply to galleries.
We hope to see all of you there to celebrate San Francisco with the Guardian.
