More Murph Madness at CFO
Not much more to say about this other than ouch!
Better have a comfortable chair and a nice cup of coffee--this video's a long one, just like the workout itself.
***REMINDER FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 18***
One more day 'til:
Our Nutrition Seminar at 11:00 a.m.!
Our Monthly WOD-Off Potluck at 6:00 p.m.!

Connie is my hero.

Ok, I just watched the entire video and I am simply confused.
1. Is it a typo or did Connie hang in there for over 2 hours?
2. What makes people do this workout?
3. I think I saw Random Dude with a backpack. What was in the backpack? Snacks?
4. Did anyone need any roadside assistance?

Angela,
I think EVERYONE needs roadside assistance of one sort or another (barf bag, ice packs, Ibuprofin).
The only reason I did this workout is because I went to CFO and got caught up in the madness. (Word to the wise there.)

DISCLAIMER: Despite the stunning form on those KPU's (Knee Push Ups), I did not complete this workout - in the alotted time I was only able to complete 100 (equally stunning) JPU's (Jumping Pull Ups), 20 Push Ups, 180 KPU's and 200 Squats. In the spirit of full disclosure, I must also confess to walking a wee bit of that last mile. WOW - do I have work to do to even think of touching any of you amazing people... Anyway, thanks for setting the standard so high!

I had vodka and chocolate in the backpack.
A second word to the wise: Don't use a backpack for your set-up if you're doing Murph with weight. All the weights banging around during pull-ups and the runs left me with some nasty, raw scabs on my back.
And yes, Connie was the only female we had who did all 100 pull-ups (no ring rows, no jumping pull-ups) and all 200 push-ups (no knees, no boxes). Thus the reason her time was posted, even though it took her over 2 hours, since she did it as Rx'd.
I also know we have other women who can do it as prescribed; they just didn't answer the call yesterday.
And yes, Connie's a little cuckoo for CrossFit.

ouch

Connie refused, refused, refused to give up. No compromising on the kippig pull-ups and stuck to the strick push-ups. Tenacious and strong, chica! (Not only that but she had to go to work the next day and work w/ shovel and pick-ax--not kidding.)
Rock on, Connie!

I really need to get a life.

Connie -- what an amazing job! And I can't describe my amazement for the wacko men who did it with weight.

Melissa,
Great work on getting all 200 push-ups, too!
Posted by: Mike Minium at August 17, 2007 8:00 PM
Yeah, Melissa worked really hard. And she rowed instead of running, which is worse, I think.
Connie, did you really use a shovel and pick-ax today? I was struggling to send emails.
