CF Implementation at Berkeley Fire Department

DSC_0170_JPG-105.jpg

Some of the CFO crew along with members of the Berkeley Fire Dept after their Saturday intro session

Nicole, Lau, and I had the privilege of training members of the Berkeley Fire Department this weekend. These two days were the first of a number of CF workout sessions that BFD will be doing over the next few months.

We'll be at the BFD training tower the entire week, more or less, in this kick-off effort (don't worry, classes at CFO will continue as usual). After that, BFD will be going through a 36-session ramp-up program where they work out in teams at the stations and become familiar with CF movements at the same time.

A shout out to Tamara -

Nice job on the muscle-up!!!

To the rest of the CFO gang, it looked like a lot of PR's on the DL yesterday. Good work!

I see a dude in the back row giving the horns up. And the metal shall flow like a mighty river. There's no escaping it, Laura. You will be assimilated.

Daniel, nice work on the 420 lb deadlift. 420... .

my power lifting, scottish highland game competing friend told me about this site. It'll motivate you to go heavy!

plus, a quick look at the books shown at the top will prove it's legit.

Thanks all for the muscle up motivation! It was a great way to end the day. For the record my deadlift was 310 not 315 :)

Tom, Tom, Tom:

Did you watch TV last night...or...read the paper today? Did you see any metal bands winning any golden statues last night? No? Did Amy Winehouse win, um, a couple of awards. Five, I think. Yes, Tom, yes she did.

I guess it has been a bad year...or thirty..for metal.

I was expecting Tam's muscle-up video to be posted. What's up?

the day metal wins grammys is the day i stop listening to it. Metallica, case and point. they used to be good. they won a grammy. now they suck.

congrats Tami.

> Did you watch TV last night

I don't own a TV. Besides, TV is sinful. I needed to make some repairs to my hairshirt last night and I could not have done so if the TV was on.

> or...read the paper today?

Not yet. Do you actually need to be able to read in order to understand what's in a newspaper? If so, I'm in trouble.

> Did Amy Winehouse win, um, a couple of awards.

I'm sure that she and her hubby are celebrating those big wins by blowing a couple of lines in their prison cells. :)

> I guess it has been a bad year...or thirty..for metal.

No argument there. However, Britney Spears won a Grammy, so the award does not necessarily connote talent or songwriting ability.

> Metallica, case and point. they used to be good. they won a grammy. now they suck.

I think that "suck" is needlessly harsh. They are not the same band that they were, but they still do okay. St. Anger was certainly not their best effort and they arguably peaked with Master of Puppets/And Justice for All. I would still rather listen to Metallica than much of what is out there, metal included.
