Coming Soon: Slosh Pipe

We will be adding a slosh pipe to our toy box very soon! A slosh pipe is simply a 9' length of 4'' or 6'' inch diameter PVC pipe with the ends capped, filled about two-thirds full of water ). Here's how to make one:
Stuff you'll need to make one pipe:
4 inch PVC pipe, mine came 10 ft long from Home Depot
2- 4 inch end caps
PVC Purple primer and cement (comes in a combo pack at Home Depot)
Water ~ 4 to 6 gallons.
Cap and cement one end first, add water and then cap the second end.
Post your favorite DIY piece of equipment to comments.

I'm totally dorking it up.
But if you want the backstory, Nicole just snapped the photo while I was cracking up with the thing over my head. I was laughing so hard 'cause I couldn't believe how hard that slosh pipe was to stabilize overhead. I just couldn't believe it and all I could do was laugh.

Speaking of DIY workout gear, would CFO like some sandbags? I picked up 20 free sandbags from the city of Oakland during that last big storm. I'm guessing they're around 35# each.

I would consider putting a capfull of bleach in that water before you seal things up. One of these days, that PVC pipe is going to break and spill all 4 to 6 gallons of putrid goodness all over the place. Mmmm... Stagnant water.

In the spirit of incrementalism, how about a "starter" slosh pipe with a more viscous fluid, maybe molasses? Molasses would also be more interesting when the inevitable leak develops. :-) Seriously, maybe a 3 inch starter pipe, or a shorter 4 in pipe? Anyway looking forward to playing with these things, and looking forward even more to watching others give them a try. :-)

I guess I will go in and attempt some muscle ups.... hope my shoulders are up for it. This is gonna be a really disheartening workout when I only get 1 round in 20 minutes, if that.

A friend of mine's making a slosh pipe using salt-water. It just makes it heavier. He put like 20 lbs of salt in a 10' pipe.
