Daniel, Loren, and Laura Take on Grace
We shot this a few weeks ago when Grace (30 clean-and-jerks for time @ 135#) last came up.
Strong work by all three!
Post to comments your favorite "girl" benchmark workout (Grace, Fran, etc.).

There is something special about Fran. There is no other wod that evokes the same intensity, competition and just plan lay your ass outedness as her. The experience is much like stepping on the mat at a jiu-jitsu competition or when the gun first goes off at a mountain bike race.
Nausea, butterflys, jitters, 3,2,1 GO
Last night was a strong reminder of why I love Fran and crossfit in general. The highlight was Casey's performance in front of 7 cheering "coaches". As the workout began we were all sitting down cheering her on. As the seconds ticked away and the intensity mounted we were all on our feet screaming and cheering getting closer and closer yelling louder and louder till 9 pull-ups were done and she was crumpled on the floor. Strong work Casey.

I feel that all performances are now going to be compared to a 2:40 Fran. So with that in mind I feel that my Grace was pathetic.
My favorite "girl" used to be Fran...be she has left me for another man. It's ok though, because I was cheating on her with this fiery little brunette named Lynne.
Loren, your C&J is super efficient and quick. I need to definitely work on making my movements more like that.

okay, so, seriously? my heart rate did not return to normal until like an hour after that experience. i was dizzy standing in front of my car. that workout reminded me so much of a track meet. i stood in front of the bar and had a total deja vu of being in the starting blocks.
sucks that i missed lau, loren, mike going head to head and all putting up kick ass times.. and tami and audra and steven!! dude.
i gotta say: while i am obviously partial to the slog type workouts, and i would prefer 'barbara' or 'angie' or a wod with at least 100 reps of something (that's not a heavy and/or complicated lift), none of those workouts leave me feeling like i did after fran. girlfriend kicked my ass.
lau: big fan of the 'go heavy then go light' strategy.
seems like this was an epic crossfit week, every day someone was just killing it. right on you guys!!

Casey & Steven, I would like to think my superior cheerleading made all the difference in your workouts...I'm pretty much over the "women" workouts, I'm going back to men!

Nothing kicks my ass as thoroughly as the thruster.
Before Fran, I feel like the first day of gradeschool.
After Fran I feel like the morning after graduation.
Congrats on the great times. Sounds like I missed some serious efforts.
Casey/Lau: what's the "go heavy, go light" strategy?

Rad video. Awesome performance by all three of you. I enjoyed it. Especially the part where Daniel goes and is picking up a bar in the background at about 4:30 or so into the video when it pans onto Laura. This just proves the point that obviously, people who are "natural athletes" dont have to work hard. If you were actually putting out your best effort Daniel, you'd be on the floor. Stop selling yourself short already and do some real work....jeeze.

What a performance last night, Casey! Congrats to EVERYONE for their strong efforts and incredible gains recently. You are the best kind of motivation to heal quicker and get back to real WOD's!!

Let it be known that Steven is the Man!
I put my best effort forth to try and beat Steven at Fran today about 3 hours ago and my hands just stopped shaking and I think that I am finally done puking. It will be a while yet before my vision is back to normal but I think I will live.
Nice job to Steven and everybody that put up PRs this week.

Daniel, I missed it, what were the times for you and brandon? I shaved another minute off mine and got the sub four I wanted. Unfortunately, also met pukey for the first time. Sorry to whoever's 4 runner that was out in front today. I swear I didnt get any on the car, and I washed it away as best as I could. Also wanted to mention that the pull-ups witnessed at the 12 oclock class today were quite inspiring (blanking on your name, but you told me you did two sets of five unbroken kippings) it was cool watching you fight for those last inches, and get them.

thanks savage ... i wanted to come by but school wasnt letting me..
Good job today Patrick you shaved a minute off in like a week! I was there for both of them.

Side note:
I ran a 10K last week and my foot is still swollen--7 days later. I so don't wanna go to the doctor, can I just continue to mainline advil and start coming back to crossfit? Please?

man, you guys are killing it over there! No chance I'll be able to keep up with that, but I look forward to joining you again for a week in march.
