I am seated in front of my computer screen at lunch facing down a bowl piled high with raw broccoli. My officemates made an excursion to the Molinari Deli near North Beach. There they were rewarded with tasty sandwiches on thick, white Italian rolls, piled high with processed meats, cheese, and not-so-virgin olive oil. I am left to consume my canned salmon, broccoli, orange, and a few walnuts. Mis compañeros de oficina have given me up for a mad man. When asked why I eat as I do, I reluctantly mumble something about insulin response and fibrous veggies. Eyes quickly glaze over, feet shuffle, and comments like "Oh, that's nice..." and "I see..." can be heard.

Beware all ye who seek to embark upon the path of the Zone. Eating Molinari sandwiches may no longer be in your future, at least not on a regular basis. Your colleagues will look askance at you as you eat your veggies. Your dog may decide that you smell funny. Be not afraid, however, for you are always welcome at the CrossFit cult. The rest of the world may not understand, but we do.

I'll give it to the next person, my wall ball shots were shallow, and the hang cleans were pretty pathetic....
