It's All About the Fundamentals
Attention Evening Class Crew (5pm, 6pm, and 7pm):
***UPDATE***
It's official, we'll be holding the evening classes tonight at the Piedmont High track.
We've included a map to the track below. Please note that this map is to the street that runs alongside and above the stadium where the track is. You'll be able to park on Wildwood and then walk down to the track. Just look for the giant stadium if all else fails.
The address is 312 Wildwood Ave, in case you have problems with the map.
If you want go to the track but don't want to run, we'll have an alternative workout involving squats for time.
If you want to row, come to the gym as normal.
Greg Amundson, of CFHQ fame, executing a beautiful overhead squat
Attention all CFOers in need of some fine-tuning of mechanics: beginning next Monday, March 24, we'll be rolling out a 3 day/week class (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) where the focus will be on getting the fundamentals nailed down tight. We're calling it the Fundamentals class, and it will run from 7am to 8am.
This class will be the perfect opportunity for those fairly new to CrossFit, those with chinks in their armor, or those looking to back off the intensity a little (think active recovery).
This class will still do the workout of the day, but there will be extended skill sessions where we'll delve into a particular movement or group of movements.
And of course, we won't turn anyone away, so if you happen to miss the 6am class or want to get an early start to your day, you're welcome to join us as well.

Piedmont sounds good. Will there be rowers for us pain-in-the-ass folk?
Great work yesterday, everybody! Theresa, you were awesome!

Happy Bday Mary Jo! Yesterday had to be one of the best days at CFO thus far! To see everyone getting their a%*es whooped and sticking it out 'til the end. That's what I call a good time :)
Connie - Thanks for the coaching ;)

Piedmont High works great for me.
Is that the one that has the fancy track and nice footbal field?

don't forget the blond highlights and BMW SUVs...
Is anyone really going to do FGB tomorrow? I would love to do it and hubby might be home in time for the 12pm class.

Happy Birthday MJ!!!! think we need to have the next rest day workout in honor of you!

Doing the runs on a track sounds great. However, for those of us without vehicles, this is gonna be a little tougher. I can't bring my bike on BART until 6:30 PM from Montgomery Street. There's no way I will be able to make it on time for the 7 PM class. I get into MacArthur BART at around 6:53. I'd much rather run on the track, but I'm not sure how I'm gonna get there. Perhaps there's a Transbay Bus that will get me closer. I will check 511.org
Posted by: Tom C at March 20, 2008 10:21 AM
I take that back. It looks like the Transbay P line drops me right by there. I should be able to make it without a problem.

Melissa and other rowers....we won't be taking any to the track, but there will be a nice body weight WOD to do instead if you want to join the outside fun. Mike will be at the gym to train those who didn't get the message or want to row!

Taking a pass on CFO tonight to go ball slapping.
Posted by: angela at March 20, 2008 11:55 AM
Mary Jo - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Angela? What's "ball slapping"?
Posted by: Brad Gilliatt at March 20, 2008 1:47 PM
Brad:
Will demonstrate next time I see you.
Posted by: angela at March 20, 2008 2:16 PM
oh man, running on the track will be nice. for the purposes of the throw-down, consider a 5-second credit (per 400) for brandon and nabil. they ran on 39th, with a stop-and-go at the halfway point.
Posted by: Joe P at March 20, 2008 5:24 PM
id gladly take 5 seconds credit.
Posted by: steven at March 20, 2008 7:41 PM
Oh, Angela..you should have forgotten all that "ball slapping" and come in to do "Nicole". silly girl....
