We need your help!

Given 4 sentences (or less) , how would you describe your experience at CFO to a complete stranger--someone who is new to CrossFit and group training?

We are working on a postcard and thought we'd turn it over to the community to mull over in hopes of coming up with a clever, succinct and compelling description of the experience that is CrossFit at CFO. If we use your description you get a free month of unlimited training and a hug from Mike.

Post your best CFO advertisement to comments.

• CrossFit Oakland is not Tae-Bo, strip-aerobics, yogalites.
• Crossfit Oakland is the squat thrust, the pull-up, the push-up
• You won’t find an ab-trainer or a bow-flex, but you will find experienced trainers, and challenging workouts with weight racks, bars and dumbbells.
• You won’t find promises from celebrities here either; our clients are all the results you need to see.

What's the headline? Sticking with "Elite Fitness for Every BODY". Just thinking how this is supposed to read/flow. If keeping EFEBody - then maybe the following:

"There are no short cuts to a stronger fitter you. It’s often hard, brutal and you will suffer. But we will help you get there. No matter who you are, we’ll help you work harder and smarter one hour at a time for a new you."

First sentence references all of the current exercise activities that the target may be involved in. Hopefully it will force them to stop and think about what they are currently doing. Are they satisfied? If not, read on.

Second sentence plays on the competitive spirit/mental, proof of manhood, nasty girl angle. "Brutal" could be a veto vote.

Third sentence - team

4th sentence: "No matter who you are" links to EFEBODY". Ends with: team + solution = new you. This last sentence could probably stand on it's own.

I'll be on the couch today, recovering from 6 straight CFO days. I'll see if I can flush out Laura's 3rd bullet point and Jonathan's 3rd sentence. Good examples of functional benefits and then empowerment (respectively).

Another thought. If postcards are the medium, maybe a direct to consumer target is part of your plan? If so, then the following copy is specific to a consumer target:

"Short? CrossfitOakland can't make you taller, but we will make you stronger, faster, fitter."

Visual could feature Daniel, Nabil and Funny Socks holding up Audra cheerleader style....?

Just a thought.

this has some Jonathan and Laura in it -

HEADLINE:
“CrossFit Oakland is fitness for every BODY”

BODY COPY:
It’s an old school, back to basics approach to fitness. Full body exercises designed to support every BODY, in an environment which fosters camaraderie, friendship and fun. We’ll help you work harder and smarter one hour at a time for a new you.

CALL TO ACTION:
When you’re ready, stop by.

Brad:

I like your last iteration very much. Only comment is that I think most people don't really know what full body exercises are--so maybe there is a wasy to call out a couple of those exercises--to me, the core movements explain what crossfit is. Also, I like pictures of xfitters just doing their thing--not posed.

My vote goes to Laura ;)

A very important feature of crossfit for me is the incremental approach: the trainers are really into what they are doing and highly trained, what ever the crazy ass thing the WOD calls for, Mini comes up with a useful sub for me. And over-time I've learned to trust him. I know that if I put in the work and time I will get there - and the progress is remarkably fast.

So I think the elite fitness for everybody should be augmented with something like: "No matter who you are and what your current fitness level, no ifs and buts, we know how to get you there."
+ something about time and hard work. :-)

Michael.

ohhh, I likey. Good Michael.
