We have asked Tim Hill, a POSE Technique certified running coach to teach another seminar on Saturday April 19th from 9a.m. to 12p.m. at Piedmont High Track.

What is POSE?
The Pose Method is a system for teaching of human movement developed by a 2-time Olympic Coach Dr. Nicholas S. Romanov. The name of the method comes from the word "pose" or "body position".

If you analyze the movement of any body through time and space, you will clearly see that the body passes through an infinite number of positions. Most of the positions (or poses) are transitional movements and are the result, not the cause, of proper positioning.

The ability of certain poses to integrate the whole chain of preceding and subsequent movements into one whole, wasting no energy on inconsequential movement laid the foundation of the Pose Method.

The cost for the seminar is $100 (We need a minimum of 5 people/max of 15)

Hey Mike I think we need to throw down the gauntlet to these folks!

www.icechamber.com

This whole fitness as sport thing is nice, but I think it needs more than just the once a year CF Games competition. The CFO Throwdown was awesome, but its kind of like a scrimmage where you have to go against your own teammates; I love you guys and instead of battling each other I'd rather go into battle with fellow CFO'ers. Let's dominate another gym for regional superiority!

"If you have a milkshake, and I have a milkshake, and I have a straw, and my straw reaches acroooooooossssss the 580, and starts to drink your milkshake. I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!!!!"

Just when you guys thought the shit talking from the Throwdown was finally over!

Nabil:

I was thrown out of the ice chamber last April.

And if anyone is thinking "what could LB do to get thrown out of a gym???" ...clearly we have not met.

way to have faith in your fellow cfo'rs brad.

Posted by: steven at April 6, 2008 3:38 PM

LB - I'll bite - how did you get kicked out of the IC?

Posted by: Robyn at April 6, 2008 6:50 PM

And THAT, LB, is why you rule. Well, one of the many reasons!

Posted by: sierra at April 6, 2008 7:57 PM

LB is all bite...don't ask how or why, it is too shocking. The only question left is, "how do we kick their asses?"

Posted by: mojo rising at April 6, 2008 8:51 PM

Laura-
If I were to guess I would say it had something to do with your enthusiastic use of the "finer" words of the english language. Either way I'm jealous that you've actually been kicked out of gym!

Posted by: Nabil at April 6, 2008 9:21 PM

I guess you could say it was my outspoken nature that got me kicked...but since I ended up at crossfit oakland--how could I complain? The people are way cooler (and hotter) here. So it was a win-win. IC got rid of potty-mouth and Xfit gained one!

Did I mention the people are hotter? ...so much more eye-candy here.

I'm in for the POSE class.

Posted by: jp at April 7, 2008 9:20 AM

Count me out. I have a funeral to attend.

Posted by: Vandy at April 7, 2008 11:50 AM

I contacted the Ice Chamber owner a while back after they had an article published about them in the local paper. It sounded suspiciously like Crossfit but they never used the word Crossfit, so I called him to see what the deal was and if I could come check out their facility.

He pretty much gave me the cold shoulder. Seemed a bit odd to me, but as soon as I brought up Crossfit he didn't seem interested in talking to me anymore.

Sign me up for the POSE class please.
