http://www.pacificcoastbrewing.com/ - really good beer. so-so food.

maybe Lanesplitter?

I know this is several days late, but I had some inner demons I had to deal with first.

I just wanted to say thanks first and foremost to Nicole and Franklin for the insane amount of support and energy you guys put in last weekend! It really made the grueling two days MUCH easier to deal with. I looked around and didn't see another "camp" with as much support personel/gear/food than we had. Thanks so much!! Also thanks to everyone else who came down to support the competitors; Sherril, Melissa, Dawn, Lau, Robyn, Michael, and all others I'm sure I missed. Also thank you to everyone who was taking pictures, especially Tom who was taking a ton of pics and also competing, then was under the pressure to post the pics ASAP so Daniel could Google himself while looking at pictures of himself. Also thank you to Sierra for smoking the run and taking first in her heat (badass) And thank you to Lance for causing a female physiological response that raised the relative humidity in his immediate area everytime he took off his shirt. Also thanks Lance for witnessing my macademia nuts twice in one day. Thank you to Tamara and Candace for being such badass inspirational chics. And finally thank you to Brandon and Daniel for being lovers and sending me weekly videos of from their Tuesday Night Salsa Dancing/Book Club/Sensual Cooking for Couples Class. My favorite episode so far is the one where you guys cooked Manly Manicotti, I must say, never before have I seen that two person technique for stuffing the manicotti shells with ricotta cheese.

Jonathan-
Safeway Grocery Stores also has really good beer and so-so food. But you don't see anyone suggesting we go there do you?

OBJECTIVE: Failed.
Try again my friend.

no way, Safeway has a horrible beer selection, and actually some pretty good food. i thought the objective was inebriation, hence the pacific coast brewing suggestion. if people care about good beer, it's a good place to go, but if people want to eat as well, maybe somewhere else is better.

somewhere with cougs and CITs...

The beer selection at Safeway comes from the finest breweries, in locations such as Milwaukee, St. Louis, the cold crisp Rocky Mountains, Amsterdam, and Ireland. I understand we live on the pacific coast and we should buy local products, and I have no problem with that when it comes to produce, but when it comes to beer, breweries in Berkeley and Piedmont can suck it, and when it comes to cars, Detriot can keep their sub-standard junk boxes!

Franklin and I are getting on a red-eye to NYC just after mid-night on Friday, before that we will be preparing Grandma for her marathon weekend with Niko and Enzo.... SO...sadly we won't be there to cause more trouble with y'all, but I do have a bottle of Patron to donate to the cause...which I'll leave in Connor's capable hands tomorrow.

Nabil,

Take it easy. I'm sure whatever place we select will have Heineken light slim cans and all the Midori Sours you can handle.

The Mallard or Luka's.

I didn't get to see any of the great CFO performances in person, and I'm gonna miss the

Nabil's posts represent such phenomenal genius that I am moved to tears.

mis-post. sorry. anyhow, i can't make it, but the lanesplitter on san pablo is way better than the one on telegraph, and they have a big outdoor space in the back that all you burly folks can take over and smoke and stuff. wish i could be there to hear the tales of aromas and celebrate with everyone.

Luka's is really close to me. Therefore, it is obviously the best choice.

If you all go to Lukas that would give me an opportunity to drop in and say hello, I am working that day.

Luka's is exactly one block from my office...except for this Friday when I'm working in Pleasanton. I'm very sorry to miss this hootenanny, but I'm working an aid station at the Death Ride in the mountains early Saturday morning. I know the Death Ride isn't a very CrossFit thing, but some of the scrawny aerobiqueens are pretty impressive athletes in their own right. Check out the ride profile.

Have a great time on Friday and CONGRATULATIONS one more time!

Lukas has decent drinks, great food and centralized in Oakland, but if going there, get there early. It can get packed on Friday nights(especially 2nd and 4th friday of month) and they charge a cover around 9 or 10.

I think Lukas is the wrong scene. We need somewhere to spread out, arm wrestle, even do some burpees and deadlifts. I recommend some place like Kitty's. They have that big pattio outdoors... and it's in emeryville... like us. I suppose if food is a goal, though, that's not ideal.

On a related note, I would really like to host a fun summertime celebration here, in the dirty R, at our house. We have a big patio, a nice view and good BBQ potential. Since Daniel has done most of the landscaping it might give Vanessa heartburn to have to endure the rather rustic asthetic (he grooms most plants with a chain saw) but, in a way, it's perfect for a crossfit celebration. Dates are flexible but this weekend isn't good because my baby sister is visiting. If next Saturday sounds good to people, I would love to through something together. I am only going through with it if folks are available and willing to come, however. My biggest fear in life is to throw a party and have no one show up. It's right up there with when the guy I had a crush on in high school called me and asked me to prom only seconds before laughing it off... "just kidding." Yea. I'm still scarred. Stupid JOSH PENZNER!

Candace is on the affiliate page! She doesn't even look like a smurf or she has no neck. You rock C! I'll come to your party as long as Daniel and Brandon don't make a pasta dish together.

Candace is famous now, too. The secret is out.

I will go anywhere the ladies of CFO are and thank my lucky stars...but I have to put in a vote for outdoor patio, cheap drinks and no cover charge (that is so 80's and I would know)

C: Josh clearly has a penis that is not visible without the use of sophisticated equipment...

Kitty's does have an outdoor patio and I don't think they have a cover charge, often have good DJs and we could bring a couple of zoned snack trays...

Poor Josh.

Yeah, screw Josh Penzer. Bad decision on his part.

Let's kick Josh Penzner's ass!!!!

Who's with me?

Allison NYC said on the comments section that she may run the 10k in a bikini today. Homegirl is hardcore - that takes some serious guts.

"...at our house." That is so cute. Will Boyfriend be there for the bbq?

Good thing the picture of Candace on the Affliliate blog is not 3D. You could poke somebodies eyes out with those things!

Sierra,
You are right; AllisonNYC has a serious gut.

Isn't that what she wore to the Games?

how do you post pics here? I have a pic of something I saw last nite that I think is relevant to a few of you.....

> how do you post pics here?

You cannot. However, you can upload an image to someplace like ImageShack and then post a link to your picture.

TomC - I'll give it a try. See if this works.

Last nite, I thought it was really cool. Also last nite I was whacked, so who knows. But I did have the opportunity to explain to this woman why Tamara should own this article of clothing. Described T to a T, she agreed.

http://img183.imageshack.us/my.php?image=badarsezq2.jpg

Does it work?

Candace great photo!! pls remember us little people when you become a CF star... I will come to your party and give Daniel and Brandon a cooking lesson on how to make cream of oyster soup, it's a show stopper. We will need lots of paper towels!!!!

I don't know Kitty's, but there appear to be at least a couple of potential downsides, according to various folks on Yelp:

cash only (Friday nights anyway)
dress code of some sort (no white tee shirts)

Other complaints mentioned include:
slow service, over crowded, jerk door guys, wanna be thugs, expensive drinks, long bathroom lines

Of course, there are others who love it, but if we do go there, don't wear a white tee and do bring cash.

Whoa. This board just hit a level of homoeroticism that's a bit much even for me. Par for the course, par for the board. Maybe a visit to the Power Exchange is a good idea... or some more thrusters, whatever works.

Candace, if you throw a party, I'm in. I would enjoy the chance to witness Daniel's chainsaw handiwork as well as commune with my fellow cult members.

Brad, the path you provided works. If you wanna be extra fancy, you could actually link that path to some text. To do so, use the following syntax:

<a href="http://img183.imageshack.us/my.php?image=badarsezq2.jpg" rel="nofollow">TomC is my favorite person</a>

to get something that looks like this:

TomC is my favorite person

Be careful with the quotation marks. Leaving them out will cause problems. You also need that rel="nofollow" in there, or the link will be dead. I have now divulged too many of my secrets and posted too many times today. I must return to my work.

Lance,

That soup sounds really delicious. Is it similar to Cream of Sumyungai?

Tom - rel="nofollow" isn't necessary. It's designed to stop search engines from following the link, thus influencing the target page's rank in web searches. At least that's how I understand it. I never use it.

nofollow

Brandon ask Daniel. He tasted it while he and I were on holiday in St.Barts last spring break...
He had a hard time keeping it down... I hope he wears that cute apron I bought him. Oh shit, I told Sierra I was in Petaluma for the poultry parade that week. I'm in deep trouble!!!!!

> Tom - rel="nofollow" isn't necessary.

Hmmm... That may be a change. It used to be if I wanted to post a link in a comment, I could not get it to work without to the "nofollow" tag. I stand corrected.

Wherever everyone decides sounds fun, Manwell and I are going to that Crucible Fire Arts Festival Friday night, but we'll come after to witness the debauchery for sure! If you guys do want to go to Luka's, for Tamara's sake, the bar manager is a friend of our's, we can maybe have him hook up some tables and discount/free door charges, I'll keep my eyes locked to the page for updates...

Also, Manwell is working at Cha Cha Cha in the Mission on Saturday night and told me to tell everyone to come out there if you want to continue the debauchery and chaos into the weekend...

Lance-
Just when I thought I couldn't be more proud of you after seeing your performances over the last few months sky rocket, culminating with your insane performance at the Games and your freakish performance enhancing substances body, it now appears, as I have stepped down from posting potentially offensive comments, you have taken my proverbial torch of comments with mild to moderate innuendos and have doused it with literary lighter fluid. And you've done so with a culinary flare that only you could pull off, essenstially you've added the cumin to the humus, thus making it complete.

A single tear rolls down my cheek. Dear brother of mine, I will not soon forget this day.

Congrats guys! Awesome showing & even better performance at the Games. We aspire to your greatness.

Cheers,

Craig - Diablo CrossFit

FYI CFO…

A clip was on the main Crossfit site today of the CFO woman and cheering squad at the games.

And…

the new video is up for tomorrow. Not only does it have Patrick looking like he got beat up for his lunch money, but CFO cheering squad featuring Brandon and Conner’s family. And of course Audra who seems to be in every video clip made of the games so far. Here we all thought the cameras where focused on Crossfit favorites…but apparently the plans changed when the got sight of that 5 foot nuthin’ fire breather.

So Audra, Crossfit games championship team member…check. Crossfit model and face of the games…check and check!

Great work CFO team!

What I especially like is the homoerotic innuendo interspersed with HTML tips.

How to put a red box around some bold text:
<blockquote><b>So you guys are voting for the White Horse for the CFO party?</blockquote></b>

So you guys are voting for the White Horse for the CFO party?

Brandon will be the pita pocket to house our cumin-specked hummus and Daniel will be the kabob.

You guys are so nerdy with your html stuff.
How about George and Walt's on College Ave?
Kind of a dive bar but there is pool.
BTW,
I am doing the 10k tomorrow in MY bikini- Lake Merritt bitches!

Boys, boys, boys.

Easy now. Big Brother is watching.

Here's the link to the video MJJ is talking about:

CF Main Site Video

Craig,

We should definitely do more Bay Area throwdowns in 2008-2009 to keep the momentum from the Games going heading into next year!

Nicole - Patron? Goodness gracious my whole purpose of joing CFO was to convert consumers to my brands. I've clearly failed.

V -

George & Walts rocks the party that rocks the party.

Yeah, Vee! Blow the whistle, baby!
