CrossFit Unlimited Throwdown

Big_Girls_Dont_Cry_Small.jpg

I'd like to encourage as many people as are willing to go down and participate in the CrossFit Unlimited Throwdown, which has been dubbed the Big Girls Don't Cry Challenge.

This is, in effect, the first of the Bay Area Affiliate Throwdowns to be coming over the next year.

We'd like to host the next Throwdown in January, followed by one more in April, which Freddy will be hosting at CrossFit One World. And who knows what other Bay Area affiliate gyms will step up before next year's CrossFit Games.

At any rate, put October, January, and April on your calendar, because those are definitely going to happen.

In case you don't already know about the Big Girls Don't Cry challenge, the format is as follows:

Day, Date, and Time: Sunday, October 19 at 10am
Three Workouts to be Performed: Fran, Karen, and Grace
Cost: $60

No information has been given yet about the amount of rest in between each of the workouts, but I'd guess it's around 3 hours.

Post to comments if you plan on participating in the first Bay Area Affiliate Throwdown of the year!

>I had the misfortune of watching that happen live last night. It was really awful. In happier news, I also got to watch my hero, Natalie Woolfolk, perform her lifts. I don't understand how she can lift as much weight as she does.

>I happened to start watching just a few minutes before the ill-fated lift. Aside from his agonized screams, watching him twitch on the ground was very difficult.

Jesus Christ enough already TomC!! Dude toughen up!! The reason Natile Woolfolk can lift more than you is becoming more and more clear! I bet the part you like most about the Olympics are the cheesy back stories that waste so much of the air time and are the back bone of suckering in American viewers by hyping up certain athletes as well as creating/showcasing the token "hardship athlete". This year its Cullen Jones (in case the hue is a little messed up on your television HE IS BLACK!!!! AND HE IS A SWIMMER!!!) Such a riveting story!

The lifter dislocated his elbow... clearly he is over-specialized and needs to cross train. Just as it's clear you need some tough guy exposure! The video is synonymous with the effects Mike's new 2008 Toyota Tundra V8 has on the enviornment.

> Just as it's clear you need some tough guy exposure!

I wept uncontrollably after watching that video. I then had to spend a full half an hour hugging myself, rocking back and forth, and chanting my power word. In fact, it was not until I hung my special healing quartz crystals ($19.95 on a special TV-only offer) around my neck that I started to feel at peace again. Nabil, I think you may need a Panda or a Kitten in your life..

What a sad state the world is in when a quality video like Nabil posted only has 164 views where as some lame ass panda video gets 19,000,000+ hits.
WTF! Are you guys going to just sit around and watching mooing kittens or are you going to sack up watch the killing montage and register for the throwdown!!!

Regarding the Throwdown in Milpitas, I am undecided. It's kind of a lot of money to hang out in a parking lot all day.

I'm not sure what's worse, 19 million views of a baby panda sneezing, or the fact that Daniel clicked on a links entitled "Panda" and "Kitten."

I agree Daniel. The sad thing is the video only had 154 ratings before I watched it 10 times last night. Honestly, each time I watched it I lauged harder and harder! Masterpiece!

Nabil, if you were a girl, you would be number ONE on my Park-outside-your-house-and-wait-for-you-to-come-outside-and-notice-me List.

Sorry Connor, you just got bumped to number 3 and I'm not telling who my number 2 is... ;)

I *heart* dead pandas.

Sierra - if you hadn't stayed up so late watching lifting, you would have seen me at the gym this morning. After achieving a record three messed up joints at the same time, I have been trying to stay away long enough to break the habit. I actually went to bed several times in the last two weeks without knowing what the WOD for the next day was! So I judged it safe to come to CFO without danger of actually doing a workout and reinjuring myself. So...sleepyhead, I missed you! See you soon.

I think Connor deserves a "notable" entry in the performances of the day section. He squatted 555 lbs last night.

"I think Connor deserves a "notable" entry in the performances of the day section. He squatted 555 lbs last night."

That is NOT the first time that "Conner", "entry", "555 Lbs", and "last night" have been used in the same sentance.
