Nicole - That is awesome! Seriously makes me happy to see.
Please give them a shout out for me, I'd do it here but they probably don't use computers.
(yes, I'm trying to be a jerk, not sure why, but it's kinda fun)

Our generation needs more beards and mustaches.

Lau - I tried to grow the stache. Really, I did. If it looked as good as the gentleman on the left I'd still have it.

Awesome job, Seniors! I'd come join you for a dose of inspiration but am afraid you'd put me to shame. Keep it up! I love this quote about learning and aging:
Ever since the age of six I have had a mania for drawing the forms of objects. Towards the age of fifty I published a very large number of drawings, but I am dissatisfied with everything which I produced before the age of seventy. It was at the age of seventy-three that I nearly mastered the real nature and form of birds, fish, plants, etc. Consequently, at the age of eighty, I shall have got to the bottom of things; at one hundred I shall have attained a decidedly higher level which I cannot define, and at the age of a hundred ten every dot and every line from my brush will be alive. I call on those who may live as long as I to see if I keep my word.-- signed, formerly Hokusai, now the Painting-Crazy Old Man (1760 - 1849)
Hey, Mike, the next time I come in on a rest day and say "I'm going to do 5 X 5 Back Squats," you're supposed to say, "But Bill, tomorrow's workout is 5 X 5 Back Squats." ;-)

Bill is the literary man, apparently. Lau, I agree. We need more prominent facial hair.

I think it is intimidating for anyone to start a new fitness program, especially one like Crossfit. You all have alot of guts to even walk in the door.
The Seniors Class is truly inspiring with the consistency and intensity your members bring to the workouts. Keep it up!

What a beautiful group!

My friends, you have taken the most important steps towards assimilation into the cult. Your training, however, is not complete. In order to truly be CFO members, you must frequently post irrelevant and inane comments to this webpage under the mistaken impression that others will find what you have to say amusing. Your posts should be rich in irony and frequently advocate behaviors in which you do not participate. Commentary regarding poor dietary practice is highly encouraged, especially when surrounded by <blockquote> tags to more effectively call Mike's attention to whatever you are writing. Yes, once you become frequent commenters on this blog, you will be fully fledged members.

Jonathan,
That World Beard and Moustache Championships site is the greatest.

Interesting timing on this post. In my recent round of absence from CFO, I have been back in IL, taking care of my dad after open heart surgery last week. It was really touch-and-go for a couple of days but he is recovering nicely now.
I have been talking to him about his activity levels (which have been very low for a long time) once he gets back on his feet. Those pictured here are setting themselves up for long, happy lives. My dad has a way to go but I am going to show him this post so he can see there is no excuse! I'm probably going to do Fran when we get back from the hospital.
that part was a joke.

I hope I'm still doing this stuff at your age! Go Seniors!
I did Griff yesterday after work on the bart trail near my office. 10:39 and it was harder than I expected, but at least I didn't have to dodge any Chevy Lumina's or Mercedes while running backwards. I did get some funny looks from a couple other joggers though! Nice work Brandon! I was trying to beat your time and I couldn't do it.
I also discovered via mapmyrun.com that it is exactly 400m from one street to the next on the bart trail, which makes me very happy.

Completely off-topic, but this was entertaining: Average Athlete vs Olympic Athlete

Good Brad - that was fun to watch. I'm thinking we need our own CFO Olympics.
