Oakland SWAT

The crew from Oakland SWAT after a workout at our box
We had the honor and privilege of coaching members of the SWAT team from Oakland PD through a workout yesterday morning.
This will be the first of many interactions with OPD as they move toward making CrossFit the fitness program of choice for their department.

Any time these tough guys want to get smoked by a Public Defender, they can find me at the 6pm class Monday - Friday.

580, Connor? Daaamn. How does that even fit on the bar?

Mike's truck is as big as their whole crew. Way to go Mike!!! My money is on Brandon...

Relax Brandon! SWAT just means they carry MP5's and auto shotties. They aren't gonna rain on your parade as CFO top dog. Although dude on the left in the white t-shirt looks like after a month or so of training he might not only rain on your parade, but set fire to each individual float in your parade, single handidly cut the throats of those annoying Shriners that drive around in those super loud little cars, spread buck shot into the crowd instead of candy, go grassy nole on the Parade Headmaster, and finally call in an air strike to take care of any remaining women or babies that may have escaped the buck shot. In summary he will do this to your parade, a.k.a. your spot as CFO Top Dog. [Link removed by moderator]

Yeah, that dude on the left does not look like one to be trifled with. Christ, I bet you they just project that guy's picture on a nearby building and half of the criminals throw in the towel right there. For that reason, I challenge him to a Fight Gone Bad workout. Low score wins.
In other news Usain Bolt is much too fast for his own good. He took 2nd place in the 200m semi-finals while barely breaking a sweat.
Brandon, you asked about Janos Baranyai today. He was in the 77 kg weight class and was going for a 148 kg snatch when he dislocated his elbow in a rather horrifying way.

> Ok Gilliat you want bucket list?
> To watch TomC drown face down in a bathtub filled
> with only 3 inches of melted Breyers Vanilla ice cream.
Nabil's just angry because I recently asked Mr. Langkilde for Nabil's hand in marriage. While initially skeptical, Mr. Langkilde warmed to the idea over our three hour conversation. Nabil has been trying to pass off his gorgeous coworker as his girlfriend for quite some time and his family was disappointed to learn of his deception.

I was all depressed this morning because I'm in the worst city in America (Yes Jonathon...Pittsburgh sucks balls!), I've been forced to eat food that only someone who's tastebuds have been burned off from years in a steel mill would enjoy, and had to hang out with a bunch of retarded co-workers all week.
...But it has all changed...I got to see the Killing Montage again.
Life is good!
Thanks for the video Nabil. But referring to Brandon as the CFO "top dog" is like saying that Wolfman was better than Maverick...He might be good, but not the best.

Brandon, we will take up your challenge...give us a few months to catch up. It would be fun to challenge a PD outside of the court room. I am the proud Captain of this SWAT Team. Just want to say Thanks to Mike and Nicole for being such good coaches. They not only put our SWAT Team through a WOD but came yesterday to the department and trained up another group of officers. Thanks Oakland Crossfit !!!

That's what I like! Brandon throws it down and ED and team pick it up.
That's my SWAT team! Proud Oakland resident (and past robbery victim)!

I'm always amazed at the pictures people are able to find. That is hilarious.

Brad Greenlee:
Yes, Connor hit 580. And at the risk of giving Connor a verbal HJ, he actually had to do it twice b/c some of the weights fell off the first time. He kind of looked like this guy during his first attempt.

Nabil:
You're right. These guys are pretty bad ass. I've seen them in action before.

Brad Gilliatt:
Paying a lady of the evening a fair wage to spend some quality time with you is not robbery. That is just a basic adherence to the free market theory famously pioneered by Adam Smith. But if you handed over any of your hard earned cash to this person after a wild and sleepless seventy-two hour period in Brentwood, then you are right, you were robbed.

ED:
You guys take all the time you need. I have to be honest though, catching up to me would probably require that I lose the use of all my limbs, that I have to be fed via a nasogastric feeding tube, and to ensure my survival, that I be placed in an incubator twenty-three hours a day.

Basically what Brandon is saying is that the reason he can't do Muscle ups is because he has arms and legs...but if he cut them off he would be able to do all the workouts rx'd like this guy.

Brandon -
You sir are wrong about one thing. My cash is not "hard earned".
Posted by: brad gilliatt at August 20, 2008 1:51 PM
WHAT? Are you actually IN PITTSBURGH? if not, then yes, I agree. Most towns outside of PIttsburgh suck balls. I mean, not all towns can be as cool as Yreka. If I remember correctly, the last time you went out there you weren't actually in Pittsburgh, but pretty far outside. That's like going to Stockton and saying that San Francisco sucks.
But, while you're there, you have to eat two things. One, a Primanti Brother's sandwich. and two, hot wings. West coasters are retarded when it comes to wings. I mean, wtf? can I get some good wings, please?
