So do you actually eat vegetables? If so, which ones? Post 'em to comments. Bonus points if you can name all the vegetables and herbs in the photo above.

Summer squash-Tromboncino(Italian variety that is thin, sinuous, pale green and dense.Tasty flesh, good eaten raw)rosemary, oregano, Italian parsley, looks like tops of carrots, jalapeno chili, green bell pepper, pasilla pepper.Red bell pepper. Wonder what's in the squirt bottle??
Looks like Mike is picking basil.
Can anyone name the classic Italian soup using all vegetables shown and adding beans and pasta?

I'm trying to hold back. I really am. I don't know how long I can last...

Okay, I can't restrain myself any longer. Lau, as always, my apologies. Mike, I blame you for this. That last paragraph was obviously baiting me.

> So do you actually eat vegetables?

God, no! I stay as far away from those noxious materials as I can. Vegetables have fiber in them. Do you know what fiber does to you when you eat it? It gives me the shivers just thinking about it...

I almost became ill when I looked at the web page this morning. Not only did I see pictures of vegetables, I saw a picture of dirt - maybe even a garden. Gardens are dangerous places - filled with bizarre animals, insects, and plants. Humans evolved to walk on asphalt and concrete. Gardens are best avoided altogether.

Cave Connie mentioned the Paleolithic angle in her post. My research has lead me to some startling conclusions. Our hunter-gatherer forebears did not survive by eating meat, vegetables, fruit, and nuts. No, they grew strong and prospered because they ate Cheetos. There is an abundance of evidence supporting my assertion. I just don't have time to summarize it all here. Worry not, I will be publishing my findings shortly in Science.

I think it was Jack LaLanne that said it best, "If it isn't wrapped in plastic, don't eat it."

ON topic! I'm going back to school in October. Any tips for staying in the zone on a budget?
