Crossfit's First Fitness Standard
There are ten recognized general physical skills. They are cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy, balance, and accuracy. You are as fit as you are competent in each of these ten skills. A regimen develops fitness to the extent that it improves each of these ten skills. -- CrossFit Journal #2

The 10 General Physical Skills
1. Cardiovascular/respiratory endurance - The ability of body systems to gather, process, and deliver oxygen.
2. Stamina - The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, and utilize energy.
3. Strength - The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.
4. Flexibility - the ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint.
5. Power - The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.
6. Speed - The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.
7. Coordination - The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.

1, 2, 4, and 11. You forgot 11 which is "Wisdom." This is a key trait in Dungeons and Dragons. Especially if you want to be a paladin/magic user.

JP, I don't understand.

nunchuku skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills... girls only want boyfriends who have great skills.

Tom, that is because you have a major deficiency in #11 like me. You should also petition for extra training in this area. Seriously, being a paladin/magic-user is sweeeet. You can cast spells *and* carry a sword. Regular magic-users cannot carry swords. So immediately you see the advantage.

I'm disappointed....I thought Lau's Balls would have chimed in by now to help poor Tom understand.

Lau's balls are indeed wise.

TomC,

What I didn't understand was why you look so dischelved and upset last night when you came in to CFO, and then why you went off in the corner and squatted your little heart out... then I found this...

Did you know HBO is making a Crossfit show? All you need to know about Crossfit.com, the games, and ‘fire breathers’ is at the 50 sec mark in this video.

Momolover, that was a wonderful video and could well have been me if I would have taken my bike through downtown Oakland last night. Remember, the best way to right an injustice is hurt others that had no connection to that injustice. I don't know what a momolover is and I am afraid to ask.

Despite the fact that I wore khaki pants and a white button-down shirt, I was not out selling bibles yesterday. I have, however, recently become a member of the The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and can now legitimately call myself a Pastafarian. May you, too, be touched by His noodly appendage.

Missing: One brand-new, beloved Clone Wars comic book left @ CFO earlier today. I will be by this evening to pick it up. If anyone sees it, please put it on top of cubbies or somewhere similarly obvious.

Thank you so much.

Robyn,

I saved it from a "rescue" by Niko and Enzo, it's on my desk upstairs

got it! thanks, N, I am sure that wasn't easy ;)
