Happy Birthday, Tamara!

A most Happy Birthday to the Queen of Uptown!  She’s a USA Women’s baseball player, a CrossFit Games competitor, Oakland Firefighter, Olympic Weightlifter, metal fabrication apprentice, CrossFit gym owner and all-around amazing woman.  There are so many things to respect, it is hard to know where to begin.

My favorite thing about T is her radiant smile (see photo above).

We love you T.Holmes.  Have an amazing day – you deserve it!

Happy Birthday Tamara!

It has been an honor to watch Tamara tenaciously attack CrossFit over the last couple of years and a privilege to get to know her in the process! We wish Tami a very Happy Birthday and thank you for consistently showing up to show us how it’s done!

Birthday wishes to comments.

I must say that pic is dead sexy T!!! Im very proud to say were buds…

On a side note, I just noticed on http://games.crossfit.com/ that they are asking for weekend volunteers to help out with the games. You get to watch for free, and get a whole shit ton of rad adidas crossfit gear as well. Just thought those of you who wanted to go but didnt get to register in time would be interested….

Tamara, you embody all that is right and good with CrossFit: Elegance, grace, beauty, strength, and stamina. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at the board after setting a PR, only to find I have not yet beaten your score. Thank you for keeping me honest and setting the bar so high. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday Tamara! I’m fired up to be on the same team as such a strong competitor going down to the CF Games!

Lau (and anyone else who’s interested)-
I can go on a road bike ride Wednesday morning. I just need to be at work by 12:30pm. Perhaps from your place in Berkeley, over the hill and then down into Orinda?

  11. Amy June 3, 2008 at 9:51 am

Rare and Complete. Happy Birthday, Tamara! You make a fine Gemini too!

  12. Candace June 3, 2008 at 1:46 pm

Can we get a real smile!?! It’s your birthday! None of this half-a**ed stuff. Hope it’s grand, my friend. Where are we drinking?

happy birthday, tami. it’s always good to see you at CFO, and inspiring to see what you put into the workouts. the muscle-up scream was especially good. 😉 looking forward to seeing you kick some butt at the games! no pressure!

  14. Kim June 3, 2008 at 2:51 pm

Happy Birthday, Tamara! You are inspiring.

  15. daniel June 3, 2008 at 3:28 pm

Happy Birthday Tamara! Keep flogging the competition!

I would love to go on the bike ride with you and Lau (as long as Lau doesn’t bring his friends Lance Armstrong and Floyd Landis) but some people have to work during the day.
Besides…who rides a bike during daylight? We should plan a weekend ride though.

  16. Robyn June 3, 2008 at 3:32 pm

    Happy Birthday, Ms. Fabulous!

  17. Theresa June 3, 2008 at 4:35 pm

Happy Birthday Tamara! Thank you for being an inspiration not only at Crossfit but at life as well!

  18. Lau June 3, 2008 at 5:14 pm

let’s set up a ride for this weekend too. When you talk about Armstrong and Landis are you talking about my right and left leg?

  19. michael g June 3, 2008 at 5:53 pm

happy birthday tamara. you sure do have a lot of fans at crossfit and i’m glad to say i’m one of them. to hell with a great day…have a great year.

  20. jp June 3, 2008 at 5:57 pm

Aren’t your right and left legs “Lightning” and “Thunder,” respectively?

Happy Birthday, Tami! I agree that you need a better picture with a bigger smile and spreadier legs.

Dudes, I’ve been talking shit about getting back on my mt. bike for a couple of years now. Mostly because I’d like an excuse to wear tight spandex shorts with other dudes wearing tight spandex shorts (you guys *do* wear tight spandex shorts, right??).

I’d be down for a weekend ride as well. As long as the ride doesn’t last any longer than a normal Fran workout, I should be able to keep up.

the chick pictured on the main page today said she wants to have a flex off.

  22. Mike Minium June 3, 2008 at 6:36 pm

    Happy Birthday, Tami!

Your skills aren’t half-bad for an old woman!

  23. Mike Minium June 3, 2008 at 6:38 pm

Oh, T, just let me know when you want me to take your money in pool, too.

  24. Audra June 3, 2008 at 6:42 pm

I guess I’ll say it ONE more time – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAMARA! Looks like you’re having a “pobre” momment in the pic…must have been taken right after I beat you! :)

JP – to see you in a pair of spandex shorts would be priceless!! Who knows, the spandex may even help you on the ghd :)

  25. jp June 3, 2008 at 7:08 pm

maybe that’s the key to doing them without getting de-pantsed — Don’t wear pants.

  26. Brandon June 3, 2008 at 8:25 pm

Happy Birthday Tami! However, I need you stay focused, not engage in any alcohol consumption, get plenty of sleep, and maintain whatever diet regimen you are on, as I have a pay check riding on your performance at the CF Games.

Does anyone want to do that Soldier WOD with me @ the 6 pm class? We can do it as a finisher after the Snatch WOD or Vice Versa.

  27. daniel June 3, 2008 at 9:26 pm

Do you know how long that WOD takes?

  28. Mike Minium June 3, 2008 at 10:00 pm

That sounds like a yes from Daniel.

  29. edgar June 3, 2008 at 10:31 pm
