For those of you who have been with us for a bit, you probably remember when we used to get 40-lb boxes of Prather Ranch beef delivered to the gym. This usually happened two to three times a year. This was a great opportunity for CFOers to get high-quality, organic, grass-fed beef at a great price. The only issue was coordinating with fellow CFOers on delivery time, how the beef was going to be split, and various other logistical issues.
But now there’s great news…Prather Ranch has set up a home-delivery meatshare program. We have brochures at the gym explaining the program in full, but briefly, here goes:
* 10-lb or 20-lb boxes of meat get delivered to your doorstep.
* You order directly from Prather Ranch (no more of Mini the middleman)
* Full access to Prather’s online meat store, including the aforementioned grass-fed beef, pastured poultry, housemade jerky, bacon, sausage, hot dogs, and more.
All this, and it comes at a 10%-20% markdown from their retail price, depending on if you go for the 10-lb box or the 20-lb box. The smaller size deliveries are one of the best parts of this deal, since one of the big concerns a lot of folks had when we used to do the group purchase was that the 40-lb box was too big for most freezers. Now that problem is gone.
There are already some standard box options available. One of them is an all-beef one, and one of them is beef-and-pork combo box. You also have the option of adding a la carte choices from their online meat store.
For more information, check out the brochures we have at the front desk, and then go to prmeatco.csaware.com/store/ to sign up. When you sign up, make sure you sign up for the “CrossFit Oakland drop site.” The boxes will be delivered to your own address, but by signing up for the CFO drop site, it helps identify you as a CFO member.
